Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
- Locate the blower motor resistor assembly — usually mounted in the HVAC housing under the passenger-side dash or behind the glove box. Remove any trim or the glove box to access the resistor.
- Unplug the electrical connector from the resistor. If needed, depress the locking tab with a small flathead screwdriver.
- Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the resistor to the housing using the appropriate socket or screwdriver.
- Pull the old resistor straight out, noting the orientation and connector position.
- Compare the new resistor to the old unit to confirm correct match, then insert the new resistor into the housing and secure with the original screws/bolts.
- Reconnect the electrical connector to the new resistor, ensuring a snug, locked fit. Clean contacts with electrical cleaner if corroded.
- Reinstall any removed trim or the glove box, reconnect the negative battery terminal, and start the vehicle.
- Test all blower fan speeds (low to high) and A/C operation to confirm proper function.
