Direct-fit blower motor resistor for 1988-1994 Chevy and GMC trucks (C/K series) with air conditioning. This resistor controls the blower motor fan speeds by varying electrical resistance, restoring full HVAC speed range and preventing runaway fan speeds or loss of certain settings. Built from durable heat-resistant materials and designed to match OE electrical connectors and mounting points, it provides reliable operation and long service life — an ideal replacement for worn or failing resistors during restoration or routine HVAC maintenance.
Features:
  • Fitment: Direct replacement for 1988-1994 Chevy & GMC trucks (C/K series) equipped with A/C.
  • Controls blower motor fan speeds to restore all HVAC speed settings.
  • Durable, heat-resistant construction resists corrosion and thermal stress.
  • OE-style connector and mounting points for straightforward, secure fitment.
  • Prevents fan speed loss, intermittent operation, and overheating-related failures.
  • Ideal for restoration projects or routine HVAC system maintenance and replacement.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Socket set (typically 7mm–10mm)
  • Ratchet and extension
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Electrical contact cleaner (optional)
  • Multimeter (optional for testing)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  2. Locate the blower motor resistor assembly — usually mounted in the HVAC housing under the passenger-side dash or behind the glove box. Remove any trim or the glove box to access the resistor.
  3. Unplug the electrical connector from the resistor. If needed, depress the locking tab with a small flathead screwdriver.
  4. Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the resistor to the housing using the appropriate socket or screwdriver.
  5. Pull the old resistor straight out, noting the orientation and connector position.
  6. Compare the new resistor to the old unit to confirm correct match, then insert the new resistor into the housing and secure with the original screws/bolts.
  7. Reconnect the electrical connector to the new resistor, ensuring a snug, locked fit. Clean contacts with electrical cleaner if corroded.
  8. Reinstall any removed trim or the glove box, reconnect the negative battery terminal, and start the vehicle.
  9. Test all blower fan speeds (low to high) and A/C operation to confirm proper function.
