Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands; remove the front left wheel.
- Locate the front sway bar link connecting the sway (stabilizer) bar to the control arm or strut.
- Apply penetrating oil to fasteners if they appear corroded; let soak a few minutes.
- Hold the sway bar link stud with a wrench or hex tool if required and remove the nut(s) securing the link to the sway bar and suspension component.
- Separate the old link from the mounts. Use a pry bar or pickle fork if bushings are stuck; tap gently with a hammer if needed.
- Install the new sway bar link in the same orientation as the old unit; insert bolts/studs through mounts and hand-start nuts.
- Tighten nuts to the manufacturer's specified torque using a torque wrench. If unsure, consult the Kia service manual for exact torque values.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to spec.
- Test drive at low speed to confirm normal handling and that no unusual noises are present. Re-check fasteners after a short drive.
