This front right rear lower fender repair panel is a direct-fit replacement designed to restore the lower rear section of the front fender on classic Chevy trucks. It replaces rusted or damaged sheetmetal to return proper alignment, structural support and a clean surface for primer and paint. Manufactured from corrosion-resistant stamped steel with OEM-style contours, the panel provides a durable, long-lasting repair that simplifies restoration and helps preserve the vehicle's factory fit and finish.
Features:
- Fitment: 1960-1966 Chevrolet (Chevy) truck — front fender, right side, rear lower section.
- Stamped steel construction for strength and long-term durability.
- OEM-style contours and hole locations for accurate fit and easy alignment.
- Restores rusted or damaged lower fender area to factory geometry.
- Designed for weld-in installation; reduces panel fabrication time during restoration.
- Saves time and cost compared with full fender replacement; ideal for classic truck restorations.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 2-4 hours (depends on rust extent and prep work)
Instructions:
- Inspect the damaged area and mark the panels to be removed; measure against the new panel for fit verification.
- Remove trim, inner fender components and any obstructing parts to access the repair area.
- Cut out the rusted or damaged metal back to solid, clean metal, preserving as much original structure as possible.
- Trial-fit the replacement panel, trimming as necessary to achieve proper gaps and alignment with adjacent panels.
- Clamp the panel in place and tack-weld along the flange, checking alignment continuously; complete welds in short runs to minimize warping.
- Grind welds flush and finish seams; treat exposed metal with primer or weld-through corrosion protection.
- Apply seam sealer to joints, prime the repaired area, and complete with body filler, primer and paint to match the surrounding finish.
- Reinstall any removed components and perform a final alignment and corrosion-protection inspection.
