Instructions:
- Inspect and mark the damaged area; remove interior trim and wiring as needed for access.
- Cut out rusted or damaged metal, leaving clean, solid metal edges for welding.
- Test-fit the patch panel into position, trimming as necessary to align contours and transmission hump area.
- Clean mating surfaces to bare metal and apply rust inhibitor to surrounding areas.
- Clamp the patch in place and tack-weld at multiple points to check fit and avoid distortion.
- Complete seam welding (plug or stitch welds recommended) and grind welds smooth as required.
- Use hammer and dolly to finalize contour alignment and ensure flush transitions.
- Apply seam sealer to welded joints, then prime and paint the repaired area to protect against corrosion.
- Reinstall any removed interior parts and apply undercoating or additional protection to the underside.
