Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 4/5

Instructions:
- Inspect trunk area and mark the extent of rust/damage; remove trunk components as needed (mat, trim, spare tire).
- Cut out the damaged panel section back to solid metal using a grinder or cut-off wheel; clean and prepare surrounding edges.
- Test-fit the replacement panel, check alignment with adjacent panels and trim, and trim the new panel as required for a precise fit.
- Clamp the panel in position and tack-weld at several points to hold fitment; re-check alignment and clearances.
- Complete welding with short runs to minimize heat distortion; allow metal to cool between welds.
- Grind welds smooth and blend seams as needed; apply a rust inhibitor to all exposed bare metal.
- Apply seam sealer to welded joints and seams, then prime and paint the repaired area to match trunk interior.
- Reinstall trunk components and inspect the repair for fit, finish and watertight sealing.
