Instructions:
- Work in a well-ventilated area and relieve fuel system pressure. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the gas cap.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle with jack stands (or use a lift) to access the filler neck and fuel tank area.
- Place a drain pan beneath the work area. Loosen and remove clamps connecting the filler hose to the filler neck and tank; use penetrating oil on stubborn fasteners.
- Unbolt or unfasten any mounting hardware that secures the filler neck to the body. Carefully pull the old filler neck out through the grommet or mounting opening.
- Remove the old grommet or seal and inspect the body opening and surrounding metal for rust or damage. Clean the area thoroughly and replace the grommet if worn.
- Lubricate the new grommet with soapy water or silicone spray and seat it into the body opening. Route the new filler neck through the grommet into the tank connection, aligning OEM mounting points.
- Secure the filler neck with its mounting hardware. Reconnect the filler hose to the filler neck and tank, and install new or tightened hose clamps to ensure a snug, leak-free fit.
- Lower the vehicle, reconnect the battery, add a small amount of fuel, and inspect all joints and clamps for leaks. Re-check clamps after a short test drive and tighten if necessary.
