OE-style deck filler panel designed for 1967-1969 Camaro and Firebird coupes that restores factory rear deck alignment and fit. This direct-replacement panel fills the gap between the deck and surrounding sheetmetal to secure trim, support weatherseals, and help prevent water intrusion and vibration. Made from heavy-gauge, factory-contour steel for durability and long-term reliability, it provides a solid foundation for finishing, priming, and painting during restorations or collision repairs. Engineered for a near-original fit to simplify installation and deliver a clean, factory-correct appearance.

Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 4/5
- Estimated time: 2-6 hours (depending on experience and vehicle condition)
Instructions:
- Prepare vehicle: remove trim, weatherstrip, and any components that obstruct access to the deck filler area; disconnect battery.
- Remove old panel: cut or drill out spot welds and carefully grind away rusted or damaged metal until the replacement area is clean and solid.
- Test fit new panel: position the deck filler panel in place and check alignment with surrounding panels and deck lid; trim as needed for proper fit.
- Prep mating surfaces: clean, degrease, and remove paint or rust from adjoining edges to ensure good weld penetration and bonding.
- Clamp and tack: secure the panel with sheet metal clamps and tack-weld at multiple points to hold proper alignment.
- Complete welding: stitch or plug-weld along the seam per OEM practices to control heat and prevent warping; allow metal to cool between passes.
- Grind welds and finish: grind welds smooth where appropriate, blend transitions, and fill any low spots with appropriate metal filler if needed.
- Seal and protect: apply seam sealer to welded joints and a rust-inhibiting primer to all bare metal surfaces to prevent corrosion.
- Paint and refit: prime and paint the repaired area to match the vehicle, reinstall weatherstrip and trim, and verify deck lid alignment and seal.
- Final check: ensure there are no gaps, leaks, or loose fittings; adjust as necessary for a factory-correct fit.
