A heavy-duty replacement top radiator support panel engineered for 1968–1972 Chevelle, El Camino and Monte Carlo applications (4-bolt type). This black-finished panel secures and aligns the radiator and upper core support, restoring factory fit and helping prevent vibration and wear. Constructed from durable steel with a direct-fit mounting pattern, it provides a reliable, long-lasting solution for restorations and maintenance projects while simplifying installation with a bolt-on design.
Features:
- Fits 1968-1972 Chevelle, El Camino and Monte Carlo (Heavy Duty 4-bolt type).
- Heavy-gauge steel construction for strength and long service life.
- Direct-fit 4-bolt pattern ensures accurate alignment and factory fit.
- Durable black finish resists corrosion and improves appearance.
- Secures the radiator and upper core support to reduce vibration and movement.
- Ideal for restoration, collision repair, or replacing damaged/original panels.
- Bolt-on design makes for straightforward installation with common hand tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and open the hood.
- If necessary, disconnect the battery to avoid accidental electrical contact.
- Support the radiator from beneath using a floor jack with a wood block or a secure prop to prevent strain when the panel is removed.
- Remove any grille, trim, or components obstructing access to the top panel and set hardware aside for reinstallation.
- Loosen and remove the 4 mounting bolts that secure the existing top panel; save bolts and any attached hardware (rubber stops, hood latch components) for transfer.
- Carefully remove the old top panel and transfer any brackets, bumpers, or latch pieces to the new panel as required.
- Position the new panel in place, start all mounting bolts by hand to ensure proper alignment, then tighten evenly.
- Torque bolts to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications if available; otherwise tighten securely but avoid over-torquing.
- Reinstall any grille, trim, or components removed earlier and verify alignment of the radiator, hood latch, and related components.
- Lower the radiator support if used, reconnect the battery (if disconnected), and perform a final inspection for fit, clearance, and secure mounting.
