STANDARD1963-1969 steering boxes have cast iron top covers. 1970-1982 have aluminum.
Steering boxes are completely disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. Re-assembly includes all new bearings, races, seals, and adjustments to factory specs. Rebuilt boxes are in stock and ready for shipment.
Note: You must remove all parts, for example, the steering coupler/idler arm, when returning your core.Additional costs may be added if the worm gear or pitman shaft gear on your core return is damaged.
Occasionally, extra parts are required to complete the repair. If the total for these parts is less than $35, we will bill you, and the rebuild service will be completed. If the cost is over $35, we will contact you for approval before performing the rebuild.
Note: If you refuse the extra cost, you will be charged $25 for the time spent disassembling and examining the part.
