Direct-fit radiator support for 1971-1972 Chevelle and El Camino with 6- and 8-cylinder 307–350 engines. This core support secures and aligns the radiator, condenser and front-end components, restoring correct mounting points and protecting the cooling system from vibration and damage. Built from heavy-gauge steel with a corrosion-resistant finish, it provides durable, reliable performance and simplifies restoration projects by returning the engine bay to factory alignment. Easy to install with basic hand tools, it’s an effective replacement for bent or rusted original supports.
Features:
  • Fits 1971-1972 Chevrolet Chevelle and El Camino, 6 & 8 cylinder (307–350) engines.
  • Stamped heavy-gauge steel construction for strength and long service life.
  • Corrosion-resistant finish helps resist rust and extends component life.
  • Secures radiator, condenser and front-end components to maintain alignment.
  • Direct-fit replacement that restores factory mounting points and reduces vibration.
  • Ideal for restoration or repair projects where original core support is damaged.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 1–3 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket set (8–15 mm)
  • Combination wrenches
  • Screwdrivers (flat & Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Drain pan
  • Floor jack and jack stands or vehicle lift
  • Penetrating oil
  • Torque wrench (recommended)
  • Helper (for lifting radiator/support)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake and disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Place a drain pan under the radiator and drain coolant; remove radiator hoses and overflow hose.
  3. Remove front fascia components as needed (grille, bumper, headlights) to access the core support.
  4. Disconnect and remove the fan shroud, fan clutch or electric fans and the A/C condenser if it interferes with support removal.
  5. Label and disconnect any wiring, hood latch, or accessories attached to the core support.
  6. Support the radiator and condenser, then unbolt the radiator from the support and lift it clear if necessary.
  7. Spray fasteners with penetrating oil if corroded; unbolt the core support from the frame rails and fender mounts and carefully remove the old support.
  8. Test-fit the new support, align to the frame and fender mounting points, then loosely install fasteners to hold position.
  9. Reinstall the radiator, condenser, fans and any removed accessories; adjust alignment as needed and tighten all fasteners to factory torque specifications.
  10. Reconnect hoses, refill cooling system, reconnect the battery, verify hood and bumper alignment, and check for leaks. Road test and re-torque as required.
