Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 2 hours
Instructions:
- Prepare workspace: park on level ground, disconnect the negative battery terminal, and support the vehicle safely on jack stands if removing the wheel.
- Remove adjacent components: take off the wheel (if needed), inner fender liner, bumper/trim pieces, headlight assembly, and any accessories attached to the fender to expose fasteners.
- Mark and retain hardware: label and set aside bolts, clips, and brackets. Transfer reusable mounting hardware from the old fender to the replacement as needed.
- Detach the old fender: remove all fasteners securing the fender to the cowl, door jamb, bumper, and front apron. Carefully lift the old panel free, avoiding damage to surrounding panels.
- Test fit the new fender: position the replacement panel and check gaps at the door, hood, and bumper. Use masking tape to protect adjacent paint while aligning.
- Adjust alignment: loosen mounting points slightly to shift the panel for proper gaps. Once satisfied with fit, tighten bolts progressively to factory torque values.
- Reinstall components: reinstall headlight assembly, bumper/trim, inner fender liner, and wheel. Reconnect the battery.
- Finish and protect: apply seam sealer where needed, prime and paint the panel to match the vehicle, and inspect for proper operation of lights and hood/door clearances.
