This front disc brake hardware kit is designed for 1997-2013 Chevrolet Corvette (C5 and C6) models to replace worn or corroded pad retaining clips, pins and related components. Proper brake hardware secures and aligns the pads in the caliper, prevents rattles and uneven wear, and ensures reliable braking performance. Made from durable, corrosion-resistant materials with OEM-style fitment, the kit restores factory clearance and reduces noise for safer, quieter braking and long-term reliability.
Features:
- Fits 1997-2013 Chevrolet Corvette (C5 & C6) — front disc brake application. Does 1 Caliper.
- Prevents pad movement and vibration to eliminate rattles and uneven pad wear.
- Durable stainless or zinc-plated components resist rust and provide long service life.
- Direct OEM-style replacement for easy installation during pad or caliper service.
- Restores proper pad alignment and braking performance for maintenance and restoration projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, set parking brake, and block rear wheels. Loosen front lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheels.
- Remove the caliper mounting bolts and carefully lift the caliper off the rotor. Support the caliper with a hanger or bungee to avoid stressing the brake hose.
- Remove the brake pads and original hardware (clips, pins, sleeves). Note orientation and placement of each piece for reassembly.
- Clean the caliper bracket and pad contact areas with brake cleaner and a wire brush to remove rust and debris.
- Compare new hardware to old parts and transfer or install new shims/clips/pins in the same orientation. Apply a thin layer of high-temperature brake grease to pin contact surfaces and to locations specified by manufacturer (do not contaminate pad friction surfaces).
- If applicable, install new pin boots/sleeves and secure retaining clips/pins per kit instructions until seated correctly.
- Reinstall brake pads, reposition the caliper over the rotor, and torque caliper mounting bolts to factory specification.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
- Before driving, pump the brake pedal to ensure firm pedal feel and proper pad seating. Test at low speed to verify braking performance and that there are no unusual noises or vibrations.
