IFP = Inside Finished Panel
To answer the need for original looking fiberglass body panels there is now a process to fully finish the insides of traditional hand laid products.
These are significantly less expensive than the so-called "Press Molded" panels available in the marketplace. When assembled with the appropriate bonding strips they are virtually identical in appearance from the original GM O.E.M. panels.
Advantages over "Press Molded" parts include:
1. Significantly less expensive
2. Inside finish is more like O.E.M. texture, showing the same light fiberglass strand pattern.
3. Stronger than "Press Molded" parts and are easier to install. Some are well aware of problems with brittle "Press Molded" parts. They are much more brittle than O.E.M. and are very prone to cracking during installation.
