Direct-fit front and rear upper ball joint engineered for 1997–2013 Cadillac and Chevrolet models. This heavy-duty metal-bearing ball joint with a grease port restores proper suspension geometry, steering feel, and tire wear by securely fastening the control arm to the steering knuckle. Built for durability and reliable performance, the design resists wear under road loads and allows easy maintenance via the grease fitting. Ideal for routine maintenance, suspension rebuilds, or restoring factory handling characteristics.
Features:
- Fits 1997–2013 Cadillac and Chevrolet models (front and rear upper, right and left hand applications).
- Metal bearing construction for improved load handling and long service life.
- Integrated grease port lets you service and extend component life with routine lubrication.
- Restores correct suspension alignment and steering response—helps reduce uneven tire wear.
- Direct-replacement design for easy swap-in during suspension repairs or restorations.
- Durable materials and corrosion-resistant finish for reliable performance in varied conditions.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per wheel (depending on experience and tools)
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, loosen lug nuts, then raise vehicle and support securely on jack stands.
- Remove the wheel and access the upper control arm and ball joint area.
- Remove any cotter pins and loosen the castle nut securing the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle; do not fully remove if pressing is required.
- Use a ball joint separator or pickle fork to disengage the ball joint stud from the knuckle.
- If the ball joint is riveted, drill out rivets; if bolted, remove retaining bolts.
- Use a ball joint press or suitable C-clamp adapter to press out the old ball joint from the control arm.
- Position the new metal-bearing ball joint into the control arm and press it into place until fully seated.
- Reinstall the steering knuckle onto the ball joint stud, tighten the retaining nut to the manufacturer's torque specification, and install a new cotter pin if required.
- Reconnect any removed components, torque all fasteners to spec, and grease the ball joint through the provided grease port until fresh grease appears at the seal.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and test drive to confirm steering and suspension feel. Perform wheel alignment if needed.
