Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the door and inspect the existing weatherstrip; remove the old seal by gently prying with a trim tool or screwdriver.
- Clean the mounting channel and surrounding surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover; remove old adhesive and debris and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new left and right seals in the channel to confirm orientation and fit before applying adhesive.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or back of the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s directions.
- Starting at the top corner, press the seal into the channel and work around the door, ensuring the profile seats fully and any retaining lips engage.
- Trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a neat finish.
- Use masking tape to hold the seal in position if adhesive was used; allow adhesive to cure for the recommended time.
- Close and open the door several times to confirm fit and alignment; make any small adjustments as needed.
