Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pry out the old seal and any retained adhesive or debris from the header channel.
- Clean the channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner and a rag; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new seal along the header to confirm orientation and length; trim any excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- If recommended by the adhesive manufacturer, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the header channel or the bulb of the seal.
- Starting at the center, press the seal into the header channel and work outward toward each end, ensuring the profile seats fully and evenly.
- Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low to warm the seal slightly if stiffness prevents a snug fit (avoid overheating).
- Trim and finish the ends for a neat seam; wipe away any excess adhesive promptly.
- Allow the adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions before exposing the seal to water or driving at high speeds.
