A 4-piece vent glass weatherstrip seal kit designed to restore proper sealing and function to the left and right vent windows on 1967 Volkswagen Beetles. These precision-molded rubber seals replace hardened or cracked originals to stop water intrusion, reduce wind noise, protect interior trim from damage, and properly align the vent glass in its frame. Constructed for long-term durability and an OEM-style fit, the kit brings reliable weatherproofing and easier operation back to aging vent windows with straightforward installation.
Features:
- Fits 1967 Volkswagen Beetle vent windows (left and right), 4-piece kit.
- Made from weather-resistant EPDM rubber for durable, long-lasting sealing.
- Replaces worn or cracked vent glass seals to prevent leaks and interior water damage.
- Reduces wind noise and vibration for a quieter cabin.
- OEM-style fit restores proper glass alignment and latch engagement.
- Simple installation — designed for direct replacement during restoration or maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the vent window and remove any retaining screws or fasteners holding the vent frame to the door (keep hardware organized).
- Carefully remove the vent window assembly from the door (support the glass to avoid dropping).
- Remove the old weatherstrips from the vent frame and glass channel. Use a scraper or picks as needed and clean the sealing channel with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt, old adhesive, and debris.
- Dry-fit the new seals to verify orientation and fit — note left vs right and top vs bottom positions.
- Apply a small amount of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the seal lips to ease installation.
- Starting at one corner, press the new weatherstrip into the glass channel and work around the perimeter, ensuring the seal seats fully and evenly without twists or gaps.
- Reinstall the vent window assembly into the door, align the glass and frame, then reinstall and tighten retaining screws. Adjust alignment as needed for smooth operation and proper sealing.
- Cycle the vent window open and closed to confirm fit and check for gaps. Test for leaks with a light spray of water and re-tighten or reposition if necessary.
