Instructions:
- Remove old weatherstrip and any adhesive residue: open doors/doorsill areas, carefully pry out old seal and clean mounting surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or degreaser. Remove rust and repair flange imperfections if necessary.
- Dry-fit new weatherstrip and windlace: lay out the kit pieces along the door/cab openings, check lengths and corners, and mark any trimming points. Trim excess material to length with scissors or a utility knife.
- Prepare adhesive: follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. Apply a continuous bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting flange or to the weatherstrip base where indicated.
- Install weatherstrip: starting at one end, press the weatherstrip firmly onto the flange or into the channel, working along the length and maintaining even pressure. Use a seam roller or firm pressure to seat the bead and eliminate gaps.
- Attach cab windlace: feed the windlace into the weatherstrip flange or bead as intended, using needle-nose pliers or a windlace tool to tuck it evenly and maintain tension. Ensure corners and junctions are seated neatly.
- Secure and finish: use spring clamps or masking tape to hold the seal in place while adhesive cures. Trim and tuck any excess material, and apply a small amount of adhesive to end joints if needed to prevent peeling.
- Cure and test: allow adhesive to cure per the product instructions (typically several hours), then remove clamps/tape and test door/window operation to verify a consistent seal and correct alignment. Make minor adjustments if necessary.
