A direct-replacement windshield weatherstrip designed for First Series GM vehicles (WBL 362). This seal (without a trim groove) provides a secure, watertight barrier between windshield glass and body flange to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and protect the interior from weather and road debris. Made from a durable weather-resistant rubber compound, it restores original fit and finish for restoration projects and reliable daily use while offering long-lasting flexibility and easy installation.
Features:
  • Fits First Series GM vehicles — part number WBL 362 (windshield weatherstrip, no trim groove).
  • Constructed from weather-resistant rubber for long-term durability and flexibility.
  • Designed to seal the windshield opening, preventing water intrusion and reducing wind noise.
  • No trim groove design for use where windshield trim is not required or when using alternative mounting methods.
  • Ideal for restorations and replacements to restore proper fit and original appearance.
  • Simple hand-fit installation — contours to the flange for reliable sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Windshield suction cups (recommended)
  • Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
  • Utility knife or razor blade
  • Isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner
  • Clean lint-free cloths
  • Soapy water or silicone lubricant
  • Rubber mallet or plastic mallet
  • Body panel clamps or masking tape
  • Windshield setting tool or padded blocks
  • Automotive-grade windshield adhesive (if applicable)
Instructions:
  1. Remove windshield trim and carefully detach the old weatherstrip and any remaining adhesive or sealant.
  2. Clean the windshield flange and channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner; remove rust, dirt, and old sealant for proper seating.
  3. Dry-fit the new weatherstrip (WBL 362) around the opening to confirm orientation and fit; trim excess only if necessary.
  4. Apply a light film of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the channel and inside of the seal to ease installation (do not use petroleum-based products).
  5. Starting at the top center, press the weatherstrip into the flange channel, working outward and downward on each side; use a rubber or plastic mallet gently to seat corners and tight spots.
  6. If installing the windshield at the same time, position the glass with suction cups and carefully lower it into the seated weatherstrip, ensuring even engagement around the perimeter.
  7. Reinstall any trim pieces or retainers if required; use clamps or tape to hold the seal in place while adhesive (if used) cures according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
  8. Allow recommended cure time for any adhesive, then check for even seating and test for leaks by gently spraying water around the windshield perimeter.
