Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with tape or cloth.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: use a trim tool and utility knife to cut away deteriorated rubber and old adhesive.
- Clean the windshield channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive remover until all residue, dirt, and rust are eliminated; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal in the channel to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if necessary with a sharp blade.
- If specified for your application, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions; for some applications a wet-fit using soapy water is sufficient.
- Align the bottom of the windshield seal at the center of the windshield opening and press the seal into the channel, working outward and around the frame. Use a trim tool to seat the lip fully without stretching.
- Secure corners and overlap joints, trimming small sections for a clean finish. Use masking tape to hold the seal in place while adhesive sets, if used.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions before driving. If windshield removal or reinstallation is required for a full replacement, consider professional installation to ensure proper safety and sealing.
