Instructions:
- Carefully remove the windshield trim (if present) and the old weatherstrip seal. Protect the glass and painted surfaces as needed.
- Clean the windshield flange and pinchweld channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild solvent. Remove old adhesive, rust, and debris.
- Dry-fit the new WBL 407 seal around the opening to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess if necessary, keeping the cut edges clean and square.
- If using adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip cement to the flange or to the inside of the seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions. Many installations can be done without adhesive if the channel holds the seal securely.
- Starting at the top center of the windshield opening, press the seal into the pinchweld channel and work outward toward the corners. Use a trim tool or a block of wood and a rubber mallet to seat the seal evenly without twisting or stretching the rubber.
- Check that the seal sits flush along the entire perimeter and that corners and transitions are snug. Trim any excess material with a utility knife and clean the cut edges.
- Reinstall any trim pieces removed during disassembly. Allow adhesive to cure fully if used (follow adhesive cure times) before driving or exposing to heavy weather.
- After installation, perform a water leak test and road test to confirm proper sealing and eliminate any minor adjustments if needed.
