IMPORTANT: 3 Wire Transducers were used exclusively on 81-82 Corvettes, but could have been used to replace non functional units on 77-80 Corvettes. 3 Wire connectors will work on 77-80 Corvettes, however the Lite connector is not used. Your core being returned must have a 3-Wire connector. If you have a 2-Wire connector you must order part 1013779 Rebuilt 3-wire cruise control transducer for Chevrolet Corvette (1977–1982).
This unit converts cruise control commands into the correct mechanical/electrical signals for the cruise servo so the system can hold and adjust vehicle speed. Rebuilt to OEM-equivalent specifications, it restores reliable cruise operation, reduces erratic cruise behavior, and prevents unnecessary throttle binding or disengagement. Durable, fully tested, and fitted with serviceable connectors and vacuum ports for trouble-free installation and long-term performance.
Features:
Fits Chevrolet Corvette 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982 (3-wire cruise control systems).
Rebuilt to OEM-equivalent specifications and bench-tested for proper function.
3-wire electrical connection with restored terminals for dependable signal transmission.
Restores cruise control reliability, preventing surging, failure to hold speed, or unintended disengagement.
Durable components and seals; vacuum ports inspected and replaced as needed to prevent leaks.
Direct replacement for worn or failed original transducers in restoration and maintenance projects.
Easy swap-in replacement using existing mounting points and factory wiring harness.
Installation / Application:
Difficulty: 2/5
Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Suggested Tools:
10 mm socket or appropriate wrench
Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
Needle-nose pliers
Multimeter (optional, for testing)
Vacuum line pliers or cutters (if replacing hoses)
Shop rags
Instructions:
Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and disconnect negative battery cable to avoid accidental shorting.
Locate the cruise control transducer—typically mounted in the engine bay near the throttle body or firewall on 1977–1982 Corvettes.
Label and photograph vacuum lines and the 3-wire connector to ensure correct reassembly.
Carefully disconnect the electrical connector(s) and vacuum hoses from the transducer. Use pliers to remove stubborn vacuum lines and note routing.
Remove the mounting fasteners (bolts or screws) securing the transducer and lift the unit away from its bracket.
Compare the rebuilt transducer to the old unit to verify matching vacuum port orientation and connector type.
Install the rebuilt transducer on the bracket and tighten mounting fasteners to secure it—do not overtighten.
Reconnect the vacuum hoses and electrical connector(s) in the original positions. Replace any cracked or brittle vacuum lines as needed.
Reconnect the negative battery cable. Start the engine and check for proper cruise operation in a safe location. Use a multimeter to verify correct voltage/signals if needed.
Verify there are no vacuum leaks and that the cruise system engages and holds speed smoothly; recheck fasteners and hose fittings after a short test drive.
