Complete heater hose kit engineered for 1968–1982 Chevrolet Corvette small- and big-block engines in cars equipped with air conditioning. This kit supplies all routing and connection hoses required to restore or replace aging, cracked, or leaking heater lines, ensuring reliable cabin heat and proper coolant flow in A/C-equipped Corvettes. Built for durability and ease of installation, the kit streamlines restoration and maintenance with direct-fit components that resist heat, coolant and ozone exposure.
Features:
- Fits 1968–1982 Chevrolet Corvette (small & big block) for cars equipped with air conditioning.
- Includes a full set of heater hoses and connecting lines tailored for A/C routing and factory-fit locations.
- Constructed from heat- and coolant-resistant rubber for long-term durability and ozone resistance.
- Helps prevent leaks, reduce coolant loss, and restore proper heater performance during restorations.
- Designed for straightforward replacement with pre-cut lengths and standard clamp attachment points.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Allow the engine to cool completely and park on a level surface. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety if desired.
- Place a drain pan beneath the radiator or heater hose connections and open the radiator petcock or loosen the lower radiator hose to drain enough coolant to drop the level below the heater hose connection points.
- Loosen and remove clamps from the old heater hoses at both the engine and heater core/A/C fittings. Use pliers or a screwdriver as appropriate and carefully twist to break the hose seal.
- Remove the old hoses and inspect fittings, heater core tubes and A/C lines for corrosion or damage. Clean mating surfaces and remove any old hose remnants with a utility knife if necessary.
- Test-fit each new hose to confirm routing and length. Trim any hoses to final length only if needed, maintaining straight, smooth cuts.
- Install the new hoses onto fittings and slide clamps into position. Tighten clamps evenly—secure but do not over-torque to avoid damaging hose material or fittings.
- Refill the cooling system with the correct mix of coolant and water, using a funnel. Reconnect the battery if it was disconnected.
- Start the engine and open the heater control to circulate coolant through the heater core. Check for leaks at all connections. Monitor coolant level and top off as needed, and run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature to purge air from the system.
- Recheck clamps and coolant level after a short test drive, then inspect again once cool to ensure there are no leaks and the system remains properly filled.
