Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect battery if working near electrical connections, and position a light for visibility.
- Remove the taillight bezel or lens screws using the appropriate Phillips screwdriver and carefully pull the bezel/assembly away from the body to expose the speednuts.
- Note the orientation and location of existing speednuts. Remove old or damaged speednuts by prying gently with a flat-blade screwdriver or using needle-nose pliers to spread and pull the clip free.
- Clean the mounting area and holes of rust, paint flakes, and debris. Apply a light coating of penetrating oil or contact cleaner if corrosion is present; wipe clean before installing new clips.
- Position a new speednut over the sheetmetal hole so the threaded portion aligns with the screw hole and the clip legs engage the flange. Press or push the speednut until the ears or legs snap into place and the nut sits flush against the panel.
- Repeat for each mounting location until all eight speednuts are installed and seated securely.
- Reposition the taillight bezel or assembly, insert screws through the bezel into the new speednuts, and tighten snugly. Avoid over-torquing to prevent deforming the speednut or panel.
- Verify bezel alignment and that the taillight is secure. Reconnect the battery if disconnected and test taillight function and fitment.
