Instructions:
- Prepare the work area: park vehicle on a level surface and open the door fully.
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pull out the existing seal. Use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to free any clips and remove old adhesive residue.
- Clean the channel: wipe the door jamb and channel with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, grease and old adhesive. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new seal: align the left and right pieces in their respective door openings to confirm fit and orientation before applying adhesive.
- Apply adhesive (if applicable): if the new seal requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per the adhesive manufacturer’s directions.
- Install the seal: press the seal into the channel starting at one end and working to the other. Use your palm or a soft roller to press the bulb and flange fully into place and engage any retention clips.
- Secure and trim: use masking tape to hold the seal in position while adhesive cures if used. Trim excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a clean finish.
- Cure and check: allow adhesive to set per instructions, then close and open the door several times to seat the seal. Check for even compression and adjust if needed. Re-tighten or reposition if any gaps or leaks remain.
