This clip keeps the positive battery cable which runs down to the starter from coming into contact with the engine or frame reducing the possibility of abrasion. These clips were installed in the engine plant on two of the oil pan bolts before the engine was painted and put into your Camaro on the assembly line. So, they should be finished in Chevrolet orange the same way to be technically correct.
