Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut off the engine, and allow the area to cool. Avoid open flames or sparks near the fuel filler.

- If present, remove any retaining clip or old cap by hand; use pliers or a screwdriver only if necessary to loosen stuck parts.
- Remove the old cap and inspect the filler neck and retaining hardware for damage or corrosion. Replace any damaged parts before installing the new cap.
- Install the new rubber gasket onto the replacement cap (if supplied) and seat it against the filler neck.
- Position the cap onto the filler neck and engage the handle, turning or locking per the original cap’s motion until snug. Do not overtighten; hand-tight is sufficient.
- Check for proper sealing by wiping the area dry and inspecting for drips after filling a small amount of fuel. Recheck after a short test drive to ensure secure fit.
