Instructions:
- Work in a well-ventilated area and follow all fire-safety precautions. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Relieve fuel system pressure per vehicle service procedure and drain remaining fuel using the tank drain plug or an approved siphon into an approved container.
- Raise and securely support the vehicle on jack stands. Place a floor jack or support under the tank to carry its weight.
- Disconnect fuel lines, vent hoses and any electrical connectors to the sending unit. Use a fuel line disconnect tool if required.
- Support the tank with the jack, remove mounting straps or bolts, and carefully lower the old tank. Take care to avoid spilling fuel.
- If transferring the sending unit, remove it from the old tank and install it into the new tank using the supplied gasket and lock ring. Ensure gasket is seated properly before installing the lock ring.
- Position the new tank and raise it into place. Reinstall mounting straps or bolts and tighten to factory specifications.
- Reconnect fuel lines, vent hoses and electrical connectors. Ensure all fittings are secure and routed correctly to avoid chafing.
- Reconnect the battery, cycle the ignition to prime the fuel system, then inspect all connections and the drain plug for leaks.
- Lower the vehicle, perform a brief road test, and recheck for leaks and proper fuel gauge operation.
