High-quality steel exhaust manifold bolt washers designed to secure and protect manifold fasteners on classic vehicles from 1957–1980. These washers help distribute clamping force, reduce bolt head and manifold flange damage, and resist heat and corrosion for reliable long-term sealing of the exhaust system. Sold as an 8-piece set, they’re ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance to ensure a tight, leak-free exhaust flange.
Features:
  • Fitment: Designed for classic vehicles from 1957–1980 (exhaust manifold applications).
  • Set includes eight steel washers—one for each manifold bolt on most V8 applications.
  • Durable heat-resistant steel construction resists corrosion and combustion temperatures.
  • Helps distribute clamping load to prevent flange damage and maintain a leak-free seal.
  • Easy OEM-style replacement for worn or missing washers during restoration or repair.
  • Simple install with common hand tools; recommended whenever manifold bolts are replaced or serviced.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-45 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Torque wrench
  • Penetrating oil (if bolts are corroded)
  • Wire brush or thread chaser
  • Safety gloves and eye protection
Instructions:
  1. Allow the exhaust and engine to cool completely before starting.
  2. Apply penetrating oil to any rusted bolts and let soak per product instructions.
  3. Loosen and remove the exhaust manifold bolts or studs as required to access washers.
  4. Remove old or damaged washers and clean the bolt heads, threads, and manifold seating surfaces with a wire brush.
  5. Place a new steel washer onto each bolt or stud so it sits flat against the manifold flange.
  6. Hand-thread the bolts/studs into position to ensure proper alignment and prevent cross-threading.
  7. Tighten bolts in the recommended sequence for your engine, using a torque wrench and the torque values specified in the vehicle service manual.
  8. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Re-torque bolts after a short heat cycle if recommended by the service manual.
