Features:
  • Fits 1969-1982 Chevrolet Corvette (C3) — left / driver side door.
  • Direct-fit replacement that restores proper OEM-style handle operation and latch engagement.
  • Durable metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Reduces play and sticking in worn or damaged original handles; improves safety and appearance.
  • Includes necessary mounting points and accepts original linkage and clips for easy installation.
  • Ideal for restoration, maintenance, or replacement of a failing or cosmetically worn handle.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flathead screwdriver or trim pry tool
  • Socket set (common sizes, 3/8" drive)
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Masking tape
  • Lubricant (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a flat surface and ensure doors are unlocked. Remove the interior door panel by removing visible screws and prying off trim clips carefully with a trim tool or flathead screwdriver protected with masking tape.
  2. Remove any armrest, door handle bezel, or window crank as required to access the inner door area. Peel back the vapor/moisture barrier to expose the handle linkage and mounting hardware.
  3. Locate the door handle mounting screws/bolts on the inner door skin. Support the exterior handle while removing the fasteners to prevent it from falling.
  4. Disconnect the latch linkage rod(s) from the handle by unhooking the retaining clip(s) or removing the retaining pin. Note the orientation of any clips or seals for reinstallation.
  5. Remove the old handle assembly and compare with the new unit. Transfer any reusable clips, gaskets, or rods as needed.
  6. Position the new handle assembly in the door opening, secure it with the original or supplied fasteners, and reconnect the linkage rod(s) making sure clips are fully engaged.
  7. Operate the handle and latch several times to verify smooth function and correct alignment. Apply light lubricant to pivot points if desired.
  8. Reinstall the vapor barrier, reposition the door panel and reinstall all trim, screws, and hardware. Perform a final check of door operation and lock/unlock function.
