Rain Sensor Pad Kit RSK-4830 is a vehicle-specific adhesive mounting kit designed to secure and insulate the rain/light sensor on the windshield of Subaru Ascent models (2019–2025). The kit provides a stable, vibration-damping bond between the sensor and glass to ensure reliable, accurate automatic wiper activation and sensor performance. Built for long-term adhesion and weather resistance, this pad kit helps restore OEM-style sensor alignment after windshield replacement or when the original pad has degraded.
Features:
- Fitment: Subaru Ascent 2019–2025
- Pre-cut adhesive foam pad designed for proper rain sensor placement and alignment
- Reduces vibration and eliminates sensor-to-glass gaps that can impair detection accuracy
- Durable, weather-resistant adhesive for long-lasting bond on automotive glass
- Easy peel-and-stick application ideal for restoration after windshield replacement or pad failure
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 20-30 minutes (plus adhesive cure time)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle in a shaded, dry area and disconnect battery if required by your vehicle's service manual.
- Remove the rain sensor or mirror cover as needed to access the mounting area (refer to vehicle service instructions).
- Carefully remove any remaining adhesive or pad material from the windshield using a plastic scraper; avoid metal scrapers that can scratch glass.
- Clean the mounting area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth; allow the glass to dry completely.
- Test-fit the pad and sensor to confirm alignment and orientation. Use masking tape to mark the correct position if helpful.
- Peel the protective liner from the adhesive side of the pad. Align the pad to the marked position and press firmly to bond to the windshield.
- If the kit uses a two-piece liner, remove the remaining liner and press the sensor into the pad, ensuring correct orientation and full contact with the adhesive.
- Apply firm, even pressure for 30–60 seconds to ensure good adhesion. Use a hair dryer on low to slightly warm the adhesive if surface temperature is cold (optional).
- Reinstall the sensor housing and any mirror components per vehicle instructions.
- Allow the adhesive to set. Avoid washing the vehicle or exposing the area to heavy moisture for at least 24 hours for full cure (vehicle may be driven sooner but avoid heavy spray directly at the area).
