Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, open the hood, and support it securely.
- If present, remove the old inserts by removing any retaining screws or clips using a screwdriver or trim tool. Keep any reusable hardware.
- Clean the scoop opening thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to remove wax, grease, and debris. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new chrome inserts into each scoop to verify alignment and fit. Use masking tape to mark alignment points if needed.
- If using supplied hardware: align the insert, install the retaining screws or clips, and tighten snugly. If using automotive double-sided tape: apply tape to the insert flange, remove backing, align carefully, press firmly and hold for several minutes to ensure adhesion.
- Torque any mounting screws to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended specification if known, or tighten until secure without over-tightening to avoid cracking.
- Wipe away any fingerprints or residue from the chrome finish with a clean microfiber cloth.
- Allow adhesive to cure as directed by the tape manufacturer (typically 24 hours) before exposing to heavy road use or car washes.
