Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and open the hood.
- If necessary for access, carefully remove the windshield wiper arms: lift the wiper arm cap, remove retaining nut(s) with the appropriate socket, and gently pull the arm off the spline.
- Use a trim removal tool or flat screwdriver to pry up and remove the old or damaged cowl clips. Take care not to damage the cowl panel or surrounding trim.
- Clean the clip mounting holes and surrounding area with a rag to remove dirt and debris.
- Align the cowl panel/trim and position the new fastener clip over the mounting hole. Push the clip firmly until it seats and the retention head snaps into place.
- Repeat for each clip being replaced. Replace any brittle or damaged clips to ensure even retention.
- If wiper arms were removed, reinstall them to the correct position and torque the retaining nuts to the manufacturer’s specification.
- Close the hood and check the cowl panel for secure fit, even gaps, and absence of rattles. Test by gently pressing around the panel to confirm retention.
