Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and protect painted surfaces with towels or tape.
- Soften the existing adhesive by gently warming the old molding with a heat gun or hair dryer (keep heat moving and avoid overheating paint).
- Use a plastic trim tool and a small flat screwdriver or pick to carefully pry and remove the old molding and any retaining clips. Remove all old adhesive residues and clips if they are damaged.
- Clean the mounting flange thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Allow the surface to dry completely.
- Test-fit each new molding piece to ensure proper alignment and fit. If the kit uses replacement clips, install them per the kit instructions.
- If adhesive tape or promoter is required, apply it to the new molding per the tape manufacturer’s directions. Align the molding at the top edge of the windshield and press firmly along its length to seat clips and adhesive.
- Work from one end to the other to ensure even seating and avoid gaps. Reinstall any interior trim or weatherstrip that was removed to access the molding.
- Allow adhesive to cure as recommended (typically 24 hours) before exposing the vehicle to automated car washes or heavy rain.
