Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and open the hood to access the molding edges.
- Carefully pry up the old lower molding with a plastic trim tool, working along the length to release clips without bending or denting the pinch weld.
- Remove any remaining clips or fasteners and scrape away old adhesive and residue with a razor blade or plastic scraper; clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
- Dry-fit the new molding along the windshield base to confirm alignment and clip/retainer locations before applying any adhesive.
- If the molding uses adhesive or primer, apply the recommended primer/sealant per product instructions to the mounting surface and/or molding.
- Starting at one end, press the molding firmly into place, engaging clips or retainers and working along the length to ensure consistent seating; use a heat gun briefly in cold conditions to improve flexibility.
- Wipe away any excess sealant immediately and reinstall any trim or fasteners removed earlier.
- Allow adhesive/sealant to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving or washing the vehicle. Check for proper sealing and adjust if needed.
