Windshield underside molding designed to replace the original lower cowl trim on 2013-2017 Hyundai Elantra GT models without a panoramic roof. This molding seals and protects the windshield base and cowl area from water intrusion, road debris, and wind noise while providing correct alignment and a factory‑style appearance. Made from durable, weather‑resistant materials with an integrated rubber sealing flange and precision clip locations, it offers reliable long‑term performance and an easy, direct fit for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fitment: 2013-2017 Hyundai Elantra GT (models without panoramic roof).
- OEM-style shape and clip locations for a direct, factory-aligned replacement.
- Constructed from durable, weather-resistant plastic with integrated EPDM sealing flange.
- Prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and shields the cowl from debris.
- Easy to install—snap-in clips and a sealed edge require no trimming for most installs.
- Ideal for restoration, collision repair, or routine maintenance to restore proper fit and function.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal if desired for safety.
- Remove windshield wiper arms: lift each arm, remove the protective cap at the pivot, and unbolt the retaining nut. Carefully lift the arms off the splines.
- Use a trim removal tool to gently pry off the existing windshield underside molding or cowl trim, releasing the retaining clips along the length. Work slowly to avoid damaging the cowl or clips.
- Clean the mating surface on the cowl and windshield gutter with a mild cleaner and rag to remove dirt, debris, and old adhesive or sealant.
- Test-fit the new molding to verify clip alignment and orientation (confirm fit for non‑panoramic roof models).
- Starting at one end, press the new molding into place so each clip snaps into its retainer. Ensure the integrated rubber flange seats evenly against the windshield base to form a proper seal.
- Reinstall the windshield wiper arms on their splines, hand-tighten the pivot nuts, verify correct wiper park position, and then torque the nuts to the manufacturer's specification.
- Inspect the installed molding for gaps and test for secure fit. If required, apply a bead of automotive-grade seam sealer at critical areas per vehicle repair guidelines.
