Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a flat surface, set the parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal if required for your model.
- Remove the windshield wiper arms: mark their position, loosen the retaining nuts with a socket, and carefully lift the arms off the splines.
- Remove any cowl or lower trim panels that cover the molding using plastic trim tools and a screwdriver as needed to access the molding channel.
- Carefully pry out the old windshield molding starting at one end; use trim tools to avoid damaging paint or the windshield bead. Remove any clips if present.
- Clean the windshield channel and surrounding area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth. Remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris.
- Dry fit the new molding along the windshield to confirm orientation and fit. If recommended, apply weatherstrip adhesive or primer to the channel per adhesive instructions.
- Starting at one corner, press the new molding into the channel, working across the windshield and ensuring clips/seams align. Use a heat gun on low if needed to make the rubber more pliable in cold conditions.
- Reinstall cowl panels and any trim removed earlier, making sure all fasteners and clips are secure.
- Reinstall the wiper arms in their marked positions, tighten the retaining nuts to the specified torque, and test wiper operation.
- Inspect the molding perimeter for full engagement and allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before driving or exposing to water.
