A precision-engineered windshield molding kit designed for coupe models without T-tops, WKT D1155 restores the factory appearance while sealing and securing the windshield. The kit combines durable EPDM rubber sealing profiles with corrosion-resistant metal retainers to prevent leaks, reduce wind noise, and protect the glass edge from chips and abrasion. Preformed corners and an OEM-style profile make this a reliable replacement for worn or missing moldings, improving fitment, longevity, and ease of installation during restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Designed for coupe applications without T-tops (verify vehicle-specific fitment before purchase).
- Durable EPDM rubber sealing profile resists UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.
- Includes corrosion-resistant metal retainers/channels for secure fastening and alignment.
- Preformed corners and OEM-style profile for accurate fit and original appearance.
- Reduces wind noise, prevents water intrusion, and protects windshield edges from damage.
- Simple restoration/replacement application—ideal for cosmetic and weatherproofing projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim with masking tape and rags.
- Carefully remove the old windshield molding: use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to pry out the retainers, and pliers to pull out any metal channels. Work slowly to avoid damaging paint or glass.
- Clean the windshield channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and sealant. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new molding and retainers: align the profile and preformed corners to the windshield to confirm fit and orientation.
- If the kit includes separate metal retainers, install them into the channel first, ensuring they seat evenly along the perimeter.
- Apply adhesive/sealant only if the vehicle requires it (follow vehicle manufacturer recommendations). For push-fit installations, apply a light lubricant (soapy water or silicone spray) to help slide the molding into place.
- Press the molding into the channel starting at one corner and working around the windshield. Use firm, even pressure and a rubber mallet wrapped in cloth if needed to seat the molding fully.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife and ensure all corners and ends are snug. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow any adhesive/sealant to cure per product instructions before driving. Recheck fitment and perform a water test (light spray) to verify there are no leaks.
