Instructions:
- Park on a level surface and work in a shaded area; wear gloves to protect hands and trim.
- Carefully remove the old side molding: use a trim removal tool and/or gently pry out fasteners or clips. Keep track of any reusable clips.
- Clean the windshield flange and surrounding area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, grease, and old adhesive residue. Allow to dry completely.
- Inspect the mounting channel and replace any damaged clips or retainers. Apply adhesive promoter where the new molding will contact metal or painted surfaces if the kit requires it.
- Test-fit the new side molding along the windshield edge to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess if necessary following the kit instructions.
- Align the molding and press it into place, engaging clips or fasteners. If the kit uses adhesive or tape, remove backing gradually while pressing firmly to ensure full contact.
- Secure any screw or clip locations, then tape the molding in position for the recommended initial cure time (if adhesive is used).
- Wipe away any fingerprints or residue. Allow adhesives to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving (typically several hours).
- Perform a water test (light hose spray) to confirm proper sealing and adjust if any leaks are noted.
