Direct-fit windshield wiper motor transmission arms engineered for classic 1968-1969 Camaro and Firebird models. These transmission arms connect the wiper motor to the linkage, restoring correct sweep, park position and smooth operation. Made to OE-style dimensions with a corrosion-resistant finish and precision-formed pivots, they provide reliable, long-lasting performance—ideal for restoration and maintenance projects where proper alignment and trouble-free wiper operation are required.
Features:
- Fits 1968-1969 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird (direct-fit replacement).
- Precision-formed steel construction for strength and long service life.
- Corrosion-resistant finish helps prevent rust in older vehicle environments.
- Restores proper wiper sweep, park position and reduces binding or slop.
- Direct replacement for worn or damaged original transmission arms — easy to install during restoration.
- Designed to meet OE geometry for correct alignment with stock wiper linkage.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the ignition OFF and remove the ignition key. For added safety, disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Mark the current wiper arm positions on the windshield or with tape so you can reinstall them in the proper park position.
- Remove the wiper arms by lifting the arms off the splined posts. You may need a wiper arm puller if they are seized.
- Remove any access panels or cowl grille necessary to expose the wiper motor and linkage assembly.
- If required, unbolt the wiper motor or move it to a position that gives clear access to the transmission arms and linkage pivots.
- Apply penetrating oil to any corroded fasteners. Remove the retaining nuts, bolts, or clips that secure the old transmission arms to the linkage and motor shaft.
- Carefully remove the old transmission arms. Compare new arms to the old ones to verify orientation and fit.
- Install the new transmission arms onto the motor shaft and linkage pivots, making sure they are oriented to match the correct sweep and park geometry.
- Secure fasteners snugly. If using a torque wrench, tighten to manufacturer-specified torque for your vehicle's hardware; otherwise tighten firmly without over-torquing.
- Reinstall the wiper motor (if removed) and any access panels or cowl components.
- Reinstall the wiper arms to the previously marked positions, lower them to the windshield, and reconnect the negative battery terminal if disconnected.
- Start the vehicle and cycle the wipers to verify proper sweep, parking and clearance. Make any minor alignment adjustments as needed and recheck fasteners.
