Two-piece left and right door weatherstrip seal kit engineered to restore secure, long-lasting door sealing. This kit replaces worn or damaged door seals to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim and paint. Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound with a reinforced profile to maintain shape and provide reliable compression sealing. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance, the kit offers a near‑factory fit and straightforward installation for most door applications.
Features:
- Left and right door kit — includes 2 pieces for a complete door seal replacement
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber compound resists cracking, shrinking, and UV damage
- Reinforced profile holds shape for consistent sealing and long service life
- Reduces wind noise and prevents water leaks that can damage interior trim
- Easy to install with basic hand tools and adhesive for a reliable, restoration-grade fit
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel with a trim tool or flat-blade screwdriver.
- Cut away and discard any remaining adhesive and rubber residue; clean the channel with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door perimeter to confirm orientation (left vs. right) and to identify any trimming points.
- If required, trim the new weatherstrip to length using a sharp utility knife so it seats cleanly at the corners.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. Allow any tack time recommended on the adhesive label.
- Position the weatherstrip into the channel, pressing firmly along its length. Use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive sets, or use a rubber mallet to seat the seal gently without deforming it.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a clean cloth and solvent approved by the adhesive maker.
- Allow the adhesive to cure fully (refer to adhesive cure time) before closing the door or exposing the seal to moisture.
