- Premium EPDM-style rubber resists UV, ozone and weathering for long service life.
- Integrated trim groove accepts original-style stainless/chrome rear window trim.
- Seals out water and wind, reducing leaks and interior moisture damage.
- Helps reduce wind noise and window vibration for a quieter ride.
- OEM-profile design for accurate fit and correct window alignment.
- Easy-to-install direct replacement for restoration or repair projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and any attached trim. Use a plastic trim tool or wrapped flat screwdriver to avoid scratching surrounding metal.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and surrounding flange with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner; remove old adhesive, dirt and corrosion.
- Dry the area and test-fit the new weatherstrip and trim to confirm orientation and fit before final installation.
- Apply a light coating of silicone lubricant or soapy water to the sealing bead to aid installation. If recommended, apply small beads of weatherstrip adhesive in short sections where needed.
- Starting at the center of the window opening, press the weatherstrip into the channel and work toward each corner. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to gently seat the seal into place without overstretching.
- Install the stainless/chrome trim into the weatherstrip groove, ensuring it engages fully along the entire length.
- Trim any excess material if necessary with a utility knife, and secure ends with masking tape while adhesive cures if used.
- Allow any adhesive to set per manufacturer instructions, then do a final inspection for gaps and proper seating. Test for leaks with a light water spray once cured.
