A precision-molded hood-to-cowl seal engineered to restore the original weatherproofing and fitment on Second Series 1955 vehicles (CS 1110 55). This seal sits between the hood and cowl to block water, road debris and wind noise from entering the cowl area, helping protect wiring, heater components and sheetmetal from corrosion. Made to match OEM profile and flex characteristics, it delivers long-lasting durability, reliable compression, and straightforward installation — ideal for classic car restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1955 Second Series vehicles (CS 1110 55) — verify part number against your vehicle before purchase.
- Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber formulated to resist UV, oil and ozone degradation.
- Seals the hood-to-cowl gap to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise and protect internal components.
- Precision profile matches original contour for an OEM-style fit and secure compression.
- Easy replacement for worn or cracked seals during restorations or routine maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the hood and support it securely.
- Remove the old seal by prying gently with a trim tool or screwdriver; pull out any retained clips or adhesive residue.
- Thoroughly clean and degrease the cowl and hood mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the cowl/hood edge to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if necessary.
- If recommended for your vehicle, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel; otherwise align the seal lip with the channel and press firmly into place.
- Work along the length of the seal, pressing evenly to seat it fully. Ensure ends meet cleanly and there are no gaps.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer directions (if used). Close the hood carefully and check for proper clearance and compression.
