Windshield weatherstrip seal designed for hardtop vehicles that use chrome windshield trim which inserts into body clips (WCR D608 A). This seal provides a secure, watertight barrier between the windshield and body, preventing leaks, wind noise, and water intrusion while helping the chrome trim seat correctly. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant rubber (EPDM-grade compound), it restores original fit and appearance, resists UV and ozone degradation, and offers reliable long-term performance for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Designed for hardtop vehicles that use chrome windshield trim inserted into body clips (WCR D608 A compatibility).
- Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber for long service life and UV/ozone resistance.
- Creates a watertight seal to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise.
- Works with chrome trim pieces that insert into factory body clips for correct fitment.
- OEM-style profile for accurate restoration and improved appearance.
- Easy to handle and trim for precise installation; restores proper trim seating.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the chrome trim and the old weatherstrip by prying with plastic trim tools or a protected screwdriver to avoid damaging paint or trim.
- Inspect and remove any old adhesive or corrosion from the pinch-weld and the body clip areas; clean the sealing surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a clean rag.
- Check body clips for damage; replace any bent or broken clips so the chrome trim can seat properly.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the windshield channel to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if necessary, leaving a small overlap at joints if applicable.
- If specified by the vehicle or product instructions, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the pinch-weld where the seal contacts the body; allow tack time per adhesive directions.
- Starting at one corner, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, ensuring the bulb seats and the flange aligns with the chrome trim attachment points; work around the windshield evenly to avoid stretches or gaps.
- Reinstall the chrome trim so it inserts into the body clips and secures the seal. Tap gently with a soft-faced mallet if needed to fully seat trim into clips.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive and allow adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's recommendations before driving or exposing to moisture.
