A direct-fit windshield weatherstrip designed to work with chrome trim that inserts into body clips. This seal provides a secure, watertight interface between the windshield and surrounding trim, preventing leaks, reducing wind noise, and protecting the windshield edge from abrasion and corrosion. Made from a resilient rubber compound, it restores OEM-style appearance and performance for vehicles that use chrome-trim-with-body-clip assemblies. Durable, flexible, and simple to install, the seal helps maintain cabin comfort and long-term vehicle integrity during restorations or routine maintenance.
Features:
- Designed to work with chrome trim that inserts into body clips (verify OEM fitment for your vehicle).
- Durable EPDM-style rubber resists UV, ozone, and temperature cycling.
- Seals windshield edges to prevent water intrusion and reduce wind noise.
- Secures chrome trim into body clips for a factory appearance and fit.
- Simple press-in installation — no complex adhesives required for most applications.
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing aged, brittle weatherstripping.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with fender covers or towels.
- Carefully remove the chrome trim using a plastic trim tool; disengage any clips without bending the trim.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel and removing any remaining clips or adhesive residue.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth; ensure the surface is dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip and chrome trim (without lubricant) to confirm orientation and clip locations.
- Apply a light coat of soapy water or rubber lubricant to the bulb and insertion area to ease installation (avoid aggressive solvents).
- Starting at one corner, press the new weatherstrip into the body clip locations, working around the windshield and ensuring the seal seats fully into each clip.
- Reinstall the chrome trim by aligning its channel over the weatherstrip and pressing it into place so the trim engages the seal and clips securely.
- Inspect the entire perimeter for gaps, and perform a water test (light hose) to confirm there are no leaks; make minor adjustments as needed.
- Allow any lubricant to dry and re-check clip retention after a short drive; replace any damaged clips if necessary.
