Instructions:
- Open the rear door and carefully remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel; use a trim tool or flathead screwdriver to lift stubborn sections.
- Remove any remaining adhesive, dirt and old rubber from the channel and mating surfaces. Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new left and right seals in the channel to verify orientation and fit. Trim excess only if necessary following the original seal profile.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel if your vehicle requires adhesive retention. Some applications are push-in and do not need glue—refer to vehicle notes.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, working along the length to seat the bulb and flange uniformly. Use a firm hand or a roller to ensure full engagement.
- Close the door gently to confirm proper alignment and compression. If needed, adjust seating or trim small amounts to avoid binding or interference.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions (if used). Apply a light coat of silicone lubricant to the seal to improve flexibility and prolong life.
