Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake and disconnect the negative battery terminal if working near electrical components.
- Clean the rear bumper area and existing mounting points with a cleaner to remove dirt, grease and rust. Apply penetrating oil to rusted fasteners if necessary and remove old bumper guards and hardware.
- Position one bumper guard against the rear bumper, aligning it with the factory mounting holes or bracket locations.
- Install the supplied or factory bolts/washers through the guard into the mounting holes. Start all fasteners by hand to ensure correct alignment.
- Adjust the guard for even spacing and appearance, then tighten fasteners snugly with a socket or wrench. If available, torque bolts to the vehicle manufacturer's specification to avoid overtightening.
- Repeat the process for the opposite side. Re-check both guards for consistent alignment and secure fit.
- Wipe away any fingerprints or installation debris. Apply a light coat of rust inhibitor to exposed fasteners if desired.
