Instructions:
- Prepare and safety-check: park on level ground, lower the window (if present), disconnect the negative battery terminal if the vehicle has power windows to avoid accidental operation, and wear gloves and eye protection.
- Remove interior door panel and any trim necessary to access the window channel and regulator according to the vehicle’s service procedure (retain screws and clips).
- Carefully peel back the moisture barrier or vapor barrier to expose the internal door cavity and mounting hardware.
- If replacing broken glass, remove all fragments and vacuum the door cavity. If removing intact glass, loosen and remove the mounting bolts or clips that secure the glass to the regulator.
- Disconnect the window regulator from the glass (support the glass while doing so) and lift the old glass out of the door through the access opening.
- Inspect and clean the window channels, regulator, and seals. Replace any worn channel felts or seals that interfere with smooth operation.
- Position the new tempered grey glass into the door opening and lower it into the window channel, guiding it onto the regulator mounting points. Use a suction cup or helper to control the glass safely.
- Align the glass on the regulator and secure with the original bolts or clips. Temporarily reattach the window switch/connector and carefully cycle the window up and down to check alignment and smooth operation. Make small adjustments to mounting as needed.
- Reinstall the moisture barrier and interior trim panels, ensuring all clips and screws are replaced. Clean the glass and check for proper sealing against the door frame.
- Final check: operate the window several times to confirm smooth travel, no binding, and proper seal. Tighten any fasteners as required and restore the battery connection if it was disconnected.
