A right-hand door weatherstrip designed for Second Series 1955 GM vehicles (DWR 1110), this precision-molded seal restores the original door-to-body barrier to keep out water, wind, dust and road noise. It creates a consistent compression fit that protects interior trim, reduces vibration, and helps prevent corrosion around the door opening. Built for durability and ease of replacement, it’s ideal for restorations and routine maintenance where an OEM-style seal is required.
Features:
  • Fitment: Right-hand door seal for 1955 GM Second Series vehicles (DWR 1110).
  • Constructed from durable, weather-resistant EPDM-style rubber for long service life.
  • Seals door against water, wind, dust and road noise to protect interior and reduce drafts.
  • OEM-profile design restores original fit and appearance for restoration projects.
  • Simple push-in/adhesive installation makes replacement straightforward without special parts.
  • Resistant to UV, ozone and automotive fluids to minimize cracking and deformation over time.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per door
Suggested Tools:
  • Trim removal tool or flat-blade screwdriver (wrapped to protect paint)
  • Rubbing alcohol or mild cleaner and clean rags
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (optional, weatherstrip cement)
  • Scissors or utility knife
  • Masking tape
  • Gloves
Instructions:
  1. Open the door and remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying from its channel or pulling out retained clips; take care not to damage the paint or trim.
  2. Clean the channel and surrounding flange thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or mild cleaner to remove adhesive residue, dirt and rust; allow to dry.
  3. Test-fit the new seal along the door perimeter to confirm orientation and length; trim any excess with scissors or a utility knife, leaving a small overlap if recommended.
  4. If using adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip cement to the channel or back of the seal in short sections (follow adhesive manufacturer directions).
  5. Starting at the top hinge area, press the seal into the channel and work downward toward the latch, ensuring the bulb and flange seat fully into the channel; use masking tape to hold sections in place if needed while adhesive sets.
  6. Join any cut ends neatly at the corners or overlap slightly depending on the original design; trim for a snug, continuous fit without gaps.
  7. Close the door slowly to check for proper compression and even contact; adjust the seal position where necessary to prevent binding or uneven gaps.
  8. Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions (if used) before subjecting the door to heavy use or exposure to moisture.
  9. Re-check door alignment and latch operation; make minor adjustments as needed to ensure smooth closing and a uniform seal.
  10. Clean any excess adhesive from painted surfaces immediately and perform a final inspection for secure seating and continuous contact along the entire seal.
