Precision Fits 2-door hardtop (coupe) Molding Clip Kit for the rear window (40-piece set, PCK-4052-68) provides the replacement clips needed to secure and align rear window trim on 2-door hardtop/coupe vehicles. Designed to restore factory fitment, this kit helps prevent wind noise, vibration, and water intrusion while delivering durable, corrosion-resistant performance for restoration and routine maintenance projects. Easy to install with common trim tools, the set is ideal for refurbishing worn or missing clips and bringing rear window molding back to OEM-like fit and finish.
Features:
- Fitment: 2-door hardtop (coupe) models — rear window molding (confirm fit for your specific year/model).
- Complete 40-piece set (PCK-4052-68) provides ample clips to replace all rear window molding fasteners.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant construction for long-lasting retention and reliable performance.
- OEM-style design restores proper alignment, reduces vibration and wind noise, and prevents water intrusion.
- Snap-in installation simplifies restoration and routine maintenance without specialty parts.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Prepare the work area and protect surrounding paint and interior trim with tape or cloth.
- Carefully remove the existing rear window molding or trim: use a plastic trim tool to pry up the edge and expose the old clips without scratching the metal or glass.
- Remove old clips from the pinch weld or channel with needle-nose pliers or a screwdriver. Clean the mounting surface of rust, dirt, and adhesive residue with a rag and mild cleaner.
- Inspect mounting holes/slots and apply a light coat of rust inhibitor or lubricant if needed to prevent future corrosion.
- Test-fit a new clip in one location to verify orientation and engagement. Identify clip spacing to match original positions along the window channel.
- Install the new clips by aligning each clip with its hole or slot and pressing or snapping it into place. Use a small rubber mallet for gentle taps if required — avoid excessive force.
- Seat the molding onto the newly installed clips, working from one side to the other and ensuring each clip fully engages the molding. Adjust clip positions if any section feels loose.
- Reinstall any interior trim removed during disassembly, check the window seal for uniform contact, and test for secure fitment, wind noise, or leaks before finishing.
